Angina pectoris is commonly known as angina and it is referred as chest pain, and sometimes moves in jaws, neck, back and arm along with heavy congestion. It often starts suddenly and remains for few seconds in the result of stress, exertion, or cold. A coronary disease that occurs due to the short supply of blood to the heart resulting the short fall of oxygen essentially required by heart to work stably is angina.
There are two different kinds of angina, unstable angina and stable angina; both treated in various ways. Besides, cardiac surgery or heart by-pass, more often angioplasty and specially designed stent are used to cure all sorts of angina.
Doctors normally refer two types of procedures to coronary artery disease or the angina patients, medications and IV or interventional treatment to open the blocked or narrowed coronary arteries. No matter which method is applied, motive is to provide a healthy and improved life to the patient and to eliminate the causes of coronary heart disease. However, with the availability and access to the most advanced equipment many cardiac surgeons are preferring stent plantation in patients to widen the blocked artery to maintain the normal blood flow to the heart.
Specially designed stent for heart is a tiny-wired mashed tube that moves inside the blocked artery under specialized procedure known as angioplasty to widen the space of the narrowed artery. To define the blocked artery, a contrast dye is inserted into the blood vessel and a catheter with balloon is moved to the heart. Once the catheter reaches the desired portion, the balloon is filled with air to expand the artery and second catheter with a stent is directed into the narrowed artery. The doctor expands the stent and catheter is removed or taken out after the stent is placed firmly at the desired position. Entire procedure takes approximately 30 minutes to 3 hours.
Stent for heart is one of the most suitable and reasonable treatments to cure angina. After the procedure, with proper care angina can be avoided for a long time.
ts3 e d nd smoking, existing diseases like diabetes, rigid eating habits, etc. play a very important part in giving the correct treatment to the patient at the right time. Some of the common symptoms of chest pain are sweating, palpitations, nausea, dizziness, etc. Besides these, some patients may feel heaviness and shortness of breath. Some patients may feel the spreading of the chest pain in surrounding areas like the neck, left arm or jaw.
Based on the above symptoms, appropriate medical tests are carried out at the earliest. At first, X-ray or CT scan may help to identify the cause and type of the chest pain. Further, an E.C.G. provides the details of the exact problem which the patient is experiencing. Based on the outcome, the doctor may give further recommendations.
Hence, it is better to treat chest pain at the initial stage itself. This will help in the prevention of other heart diseases which are quite severe & may require surgery.
